goo goo dolls
Jackie & Robby Takac    I checked out the Goos December 2 & 3rd in their hometown, Buffalo, NY. Buffalo was a lot of fun. Everyone is super friendly there and the locals all seem to know the Goo Goo Dolls. People from Buffalo talk about them as if they were family. It was pretty cool. Anyway, the Thursday night show started out great. I was able to sneak my camera into Shea's and started taking pictures when they came out. Unfortunately, a few songs into it, a security guard came over to me and ripped the film right out of my camera. He was really mean, and put me in a down mood for the rest of the show.
After the show, we checked out some of the local bars and bumped into Robby. A mutual friend introduced me to Robby and he was just as I expected, very down to earth and cool. I really didn't even want to ask him if I could get a picture with him because he seemed to be hanging with old friends and he had a security guard with him. But he insisted that it was fine, which was very cool of him. The friday night show was totally different for me. I didn't even bother to bring my camera because I was so worried it would get taken. But, because of that I was able to enjoy the show even more since I didn't have to worry about taking pictures. I sat down in my seat and the girl next to me asked if I was Jackie--that seemed to happen a lot in Buffalo--and she turned out to be Jenn, who I'd talked to from World of Goo. So we ended up hanging out and having a great time at the show. The guys looked great on stage and had tons of energy. The set list was the same as it has been on the tour: Dizzy, Long Way Down, Lazy Eye, Slide, There Your Are, Full 4Ever, Black Balloon, Bullet Proof, Naked, Name, January Friend, Cuz You're Gone (with Thousand Words), Broadway, 2nd Time Around, Flat Top, Acoustic #3, Iris, Just The Way You Are, Burnin Up, Hate This Place, 2 Days in February. "Cuz You're Gone" with Thousand words was probably the best song of the night, that's such a great song! There was a problem with the confetti, during "Just The Way You Are," it started blowing uncontrollably and John was half laughing while singing. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play more of their older songs, but whatever. They played the greed film as usual and John joked with the crowd a lot. Robby said hi to his grandmother who was up in the balcony which was really cute. After Two Days in February John and Robby started wrestling on stage.
