goo goo dolls

I first got into the Goo Goo Dolls back in 1990 when a friend gave me "Superstar Carwash."  I have been a fan ever since and try to go to as many shows as possible. The Goos put on the best live show and I am always amazed at the amount of energy they have on stage. My favorite song is We are the Normal. Some of my other favorites are: Ain't that Unusual, So Far Away, Dizzy and Cuz You're Gone. I've been fortunate enough to meet the band many times. Click on the links below for great concert shots and reviews. Also, scroll down to see what other bands I'm into.

On the radio I listen to 92.7 WLIR..all the way! Especially since they changed back to WLIR they play tons of awesome old stuff.

Songs  I can listen to over and over again:

"Sometimes," James off the album "Laid" the whole album is really awesome!

"Forever Young" Alphavile

"Life in a Northern Town" Dream Academy

"It's My Life," Talk Talk

"We are the Normal," Goo Goo Dolls off the album "Superstar Carwash"

Favorite Punk & Rock bands:

REM  Favorite song.."Driver 8"...saw them in concert for the Green tour and the Monster tour. Green was better!

Live   Favorite songs..The first two songs off Mental Jewelry, "Pain Lies on the Riverside" and "Operation Spirit" and "Selling the Drama" off Throwing Copper. I saw them twice in concert on the Throwing Copper tour--they rocked. I just saw LIVE at Woodstock '99 and this was by far the best I've seen them. They played, all of my favorites from Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper. They also played a great new song from their new album which they announced will be out in September. I can't wait to hear it!

Offspring   Favorite songs: "Kick 'em when he's Down", "Gone Away", "Self Esteem" "What Happened to You, " "Something to Believe in" and many more. Ignition is an excellent album. I just saw Dexter and the boys play an awesome show at Woodstock '99. Their intermission skit kicked ass. They brought out dummies of the BackStreet Boys and Dexter knocked 'em down with a bat. It was hysterical and such a typical Offspring thing to do.

Bad Religion   Favorite song: 21st Century Digital boy.."Truth is Stranger than Fiction" is a close second--saw them once at Roseland a couple years ago then, at the warped tour this past summer--they were awesome!  Also any Bad Religion album is great to listen to while working out..the music is so fast it's hard to keep up on the stairmaster!

Social Distortion  Favorite song, "I Was Wrong. "I love every song off  "Somewhere between Heavan and Hell" and "White Light, White Heat, White Trash."  I just saw Mike Ness at Woodstock '99 touring for his first solo album. He really kicked ass. A lot of the songs have a country sound to them, but his lyrics are just as potent as his Social D. songs.

Hole  Courtney Love Rocks, the new album is awesome! And NO I don't think she had Kurt murdered--get over it..she's awesome in her own right.

Favorite Pop/Dance bands:

Erasure   Favorite songs, "Chains of Love"  and "Always."  This group is awesome to dance to and I hear they're a riot to see live.

Sarah Mclachlan  I was a fan of hers way before Lilith, she has a great voice. Favorite songs: "Into the Fire", "Possesion" and "Building a Mystery.
